All dogs adopted through Red Dog Rescue will receive a 15 day adoption probation period. This period starts the day the dog enters the care of the adopter.
We are looking for committed adopters who are dedicated to working through any challenges that may arise with their new family member. We want to avoid an adoption fail, although the dog can be re-homed if major issues arise, action has been taken to work with the animal, and the adopters cannot keep the dog. Details will be outlined in the adoption agreement.
Keep in mind...
Red Dog Rescue receives as much information as we can on the dog's health, temperament, and behaviours before placing the dog into an adoptive home. However, we only know as much as our American partners informs us. We adopt out all animals in good faith but cannot guarantee age, breed, temperament or behaviours.
Your rescue dog will not be 'perfect'. It is your responsibility to provide structure, guidance and love, and to teach them how to be the best they can be.
If you are not prepared to attend training or seek out professional help for unwanted behaviours, stick to adopting a fish.
